The Word
Jesus’ mother and close relatives came looking for Jesus. A crowd was sitting around him and they said, "Your mother and your brothers and sisters are outside, asking for you." Jesus looked at them and said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! Whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.”

Look Closer
Do you think the people listening to Jesus were surprised when he called them his mother, sisters and brothers? How amazing! This means that if when we listen to Jesus in the Gospels and do what he says that we are as special to him as his own mother, Mary!
