2024 School Year - Term 1 / Week 1 - 2nd February 2024
Ordinary Time 5 Suffering
The Word
Simon’s mother-in-law was sick with a fever, so Jesus took her hand and healed her. People came to Jesus and he healed many who were sick and drove out many demons. Then Jesus went to a lonely place to pray. The disciples looked for him, saying, ”Everyone is looking for you.” Jesus answered, “We must go to the other villages - I have to preach to them too.”
Jb 7:1-4, 6-7 | Ps 146 | Cor 9:16-19, 22-23 | Mk 1:29-39
Look Closer
Prayers Answered. When people are sick we pray for them. Sometimes they get better and sometimes they don’t. God always hears and answers a sincere prayer, just not always the way we were expecting. God knows that the difficult times can be a source of grace and growth in our lives and, like a loving parent, God wants to be with us and to help us.

St Teresa of Calcutta - 1910– 1997

As this is a representative pathway trial the students must display a high standard of ability in their chosen sport to warrant being sent to the trials. They should be involved in regular competition, have a sound knowledge of the rules of the game and a high skill level.
Please contact Mrs Hough if you would like to nominate for the trials by 16 Feb to receive information to register.
