Ordinary Time 6 Jesus Heals a Man
The Word
A man with a skin disease came to Jesus and begged, “If you want to, you can make me clean.” Jesus was filled with pity. “I do want to,” he answered and he touched him and said, “Be clean!” At once the disease left the man. Then Jesus said, “Tell no one about this.” But the man spread the news everywhere. He talked so much that Jesus could not go out in public.
Lev 13:1-2,44-46 l Ps 31 l Cor 10:31-11:1 l Mk 1:40-45
Look Closer
Compassion. In the time of Jesus, people believed that disease was a punishment from God. Compassion means to feel sorry for the suffering of others and to want to help them. Jesus had compassion for the people who were sick and suffering and healed them.

We are able to send 1 student to represent our school. As this is a representative pathway trial the students must display a high standard of ability in their chosen sport to warrant being sent to the trials. They should be involved in regular competition, have a sound knowledge of the rules of the game and a high skill level.
Please contact Mrs Hough if you would like to nominate for the trials by 16 Feb to receive information to register.
Pupil Free Day
Wednesday 21st February. Teaching staff and teacher’s aides will attend a one day Professional Development Day in Orange with Dr Michael McDowell.
Student Spotlight
Each week, 1 student will be chosen for the Student Spotlight. On a Friday afternoon, they will be sent home with an A3 sheet of paper containing some questions for the students to answer. These are just a few fun facts about the student and they can add whatever they want to the sheet, colouring, stickers, or a drawing. You may also choose to add your own photo of your child or we can add a photo at school. The sheet is to be returned to School on Monday morning and it will be displayed on a special board in the hallway for the whole week. |
