The Word
Jesus took Peter, James and John up a high mountain alone. A change came over Jesus and his 
clothes became shining white. They saw Elijah and Moses talking with him. Then a cloud appeared 
and a voice said, ”This is my own dear Son; listen to him!”

Look Closer
Transfiguration describes something that changes. When Jesus was transfigured, his 
appearance changed to something glorious. The butterfly is a symbol of change. A caterpillar goes 
into a cocoon. When it emerges, it is transformed into a beautiful butterfly.
