Lent 5 From DEATH to Life
The Word
Jesus said, “I tell you truly, a grain of wheat remains no more than one grain unless it is dropped into the ground and dies. Then it produces many grains. Those who love their own life will lose it; those who hate their own life in this world will keep it for life eternal.”

Look Closer
Life from Death. When we selfishly seek our own happiness, we risk losing our eternal life. But if we ‘die to ourselves’ by giving to others, we will have eternal life. Many of the saints gave everything, including their lives. Like a single grain of wheat that dies and so produces a great harvest, the example of the martyrs has also produced many more believers.
